30 Day Lifestyle Challenge

Our Annual Team Cleanses are:

January, April, July & October

We’ll be glad to assist you starting anytime!

We lead “30 Day Lifestyle Cleanses” approximately once a quarter with our following cleanse (you can start one anytime!)

Remember, this is only 30 days but it will launch your new lifestyle. Once the 30 days is up, there will be much more flexibility in the food intake, while still maintaining a healthier lifestyle, such as adding back in non-GMO rice and oats, select dairy products and special sugary treats every once in a while. There are also many tasty gluten-free options for breads, pasta and cooking flours.

This is a resource primarily for those who have attended one our workshops and have been coached prior to beginning. We would enjoy speaking with you in detail to help you get started. We also have a Facebook group where we share recipes and ideas.

We believe you may be surprised at how good the food will taste to you and how simple it is to eat in this lifestyle, even if you dine out a lot.

Supplementation:

Anytime you embark on a serious food intake change such as this, you may put additional strain on your organs as you “detox”. It can be very beneficial to properly supplement during this process. We have used many different products with different price ranges and will share with you what we’ve learned. If you want to participate, but are not wanting to further invest in supplements, we will work with you to develop an appropriate plan.

Basic Plan for Food and Beverage:

No refined sugar, no grain, no dairy, no GMOs (genetically modified organisms), no fried foods.Lots of fruits, vegetables and lean meats. “Lean meat” defined as low fat beef (filet, 97+% lean ground beef, chicken, turkey, fish). No pork, no shellfish, no fatty steaks. We will also consume nuts (including organic peanut butter), eggs and a limited amount of potatoes.

As often as possible and reasonable, eat organic fruits and veggies and hormone-free meat. You may find that in some cases you will need to choose “better” when you don’t have access to the “best”. Make the best decision you can and remember that you are choosing to participate so err on the side of “best” when you can.

Beverages:

Water, water, water. We put various dōTERRA Essential Oils (particularly citrus oils) in our glass water bottles which make water more interesting. We recommend starting your day with a minimum of 16 oz., and drinking an overall minimum of roughly half of your body weight in ounces.

Limited amounts of no-sugar added fresh juices (perhaps an ounce or so of Welch’s grape juice every few days)

Caffeine-free herbal tea

Caffeine-free coffee

Almond milk (no flavor added and unsweetened)

Coconut milk (no flavor added and unsweetened)

No pop, no milk, no caffeine, no sugar added juices, no carbonation of any kind, no creamers or sugar (real or substitute) and no alcohol.

Other things on the approved list:

Olive Oil

Coconut Oil

Sea Salt (not table salt) & Pepper (don’t go overboard!)

Hummus (make sure it doesn’t have unsavory oils in it!)

Honey (Local if possible – don’t go overboard!)

All Natural Maple Syrup (Local if possible – don’t go overboard!)

Breakfast and snacks:

Protein shakes will become your best friend. We start every morning with one and usually have at least one more during the day.

Protein powder will be vital to your success. We use Garden of Life Raw Protein.

Go-to recipe:

1 cup Silk brand almond milk

1 scoop of Garden of Life Raw Protein powder

1 organic banana

1 tsp. organic non-GMO peanut butter

Fruit as desired (freezing your fruit will make it more like a “smoothie”)

You can certainly add various veggies as well and a good blender will make this process enjoyable.

For those of you thinking cost will be a huge issue, here are some examples of the moderate difference in cost between organic and non-organic and better options vs. not quite so good options (all illustrations taken from a local grocery store in May of 2015).

Organic Bananas vs. Non-Organic

Organic Avocados vs. Non-Organic

Not-so-great Peanut Butter vs. Better Peanut Butter

Fatty Ground Beef vs. Lean Ground Beef

Drugs:

During our 30 days, we will not use any drugs. No Advil/Tylenol, no cold and flu or sinus stuff etc.

For those of you under physician care or direction, never discontinue or reduce prescription medications without consulting your doctor or pharmacist.

Other Lifestyle Cleanse Options:

We encourage you to take this 30 day time frame to observe all of the potentially harmful things that many included in our daily lives — examples may include chemicals in our soaps and shampoos, use of microwaves, not wearing sunscreen, and the list goes on.

Exercise:

We encourage you to begin, or continue, an active routine to fit your current physical condition. We would be pleased to make some recommendations and direct you to proper and convenient facilities such as your local YMCA.
